 Finite-Volume Discretizations
Finite volume discretizations represent the spatial domain as a set of piecewise constant functions.

Detailed Description

Spatial discretizations approximate the continuous spatial space of the physical world by data for finite number of points.

These data points are usually called "degrees of freedom" (DOF). Each of them has a vector of so-called "primary variables" attached.
