Hydrogen fuel cell performance can be limited by the rate of water transport in the gas diffusion layer. The LBPM “color” model can serve as a tool to predict these dynamics, taking advantage of AI-enhanced microscope images to simulate fluid flow from first principles within the fuel cell microstructure.
